    Hey Guys, were back from the work weekend (04/02/2004).   11 guys were on hand to get some work done around the camp. Details & Pictures can be viewed by going to the link below.  Raffle tickets were dispersed for the June 14th

    Hey Guys,  A new addition has been added the reports page of the website (scroll to the bottom of the page).  You will now be able to view the membership dues list which will be updated following every monthly meeting.  As always, these reports will be password protected.  The Deer & Turkey have almost finished up the corn that was put in the feeders a few weeks back.  There is about 24" inches of snow on the ground at the camp so we may be heading back up to re-fill the feeders again, I'll keep ya posted on when and if we make a return trip.  Don't forget the next Work Weekend scheduled for the April 2nd weekend, all help is appreciated.  We are going to call "Porky" Allen to come over to the camp and take a look at our woods and give us some advice on timbering some of the property so try to make it up and give some input on the subject.

    Hey Guys, were back from the Deer/Turkey feeding work weekend.  While we were at the camp we received some sad news, Kathy Jo Long passed away on January 24th after a brief illness.  Please keep your thoughts with Ed Long and his family as they mourn their loss, Kathy Jo will be greatly missed by all of us at the Bucktail family.  We did get some work done at the camp, we filled the feeders with whole corn, cleaned the cooking stove, repaired the wood burning stove with new door gaskets, fixed some broken hot water pipes that had frozen, and started building the dock at the big pond.  Pictures can be viewed by going to the link below :

    Hey Guys, were back from Deer Huntin @ the camp and we had a pretty  successful hunt this year,  pictures are available for your viewing pleasure.  BE SURE to check out the 2003 Deer Hunting page to see Ernie P's "Trophy Buck".  I will post the links to the page and all updates at the bottom of this note.  I've added some pictures to the meeting minutes for 2003  and also added the complete BTHC Membership Roster from over the years since 1955.  The Raffle Winners are also listed from the raffle held @ camp on Dec 30th, these pages are as always password protected.

    Hey Guys, its that time of year again.  With turkey and bear season over its now time for our deer hunt.  We did get a few turkeys (2) and the bear hunt (2) was terrific this season, check them out on the turkey and bear links on the site.  Raffle tickets are due in by this Sunday (Nov. 30th, 2003) at the meeting @ Deer Camp.  Raffle winners can also be found on the raffle link.

    Hey Guys, its been awhile since the last update.  The next raffle is scheduled to go off @ the June 9th, 2003 meeting,  I distributed some tickets to the members present at last nites meeting and the rest will be mailed out within the next week.  There is a Work Weekend scheduled for March 29th and the turn out so far looks very good, please try to make it and help out your club.  Some of the things needed to be done include: Replacing the Wood Burning Stove, sand, spackle & paint the Hall Stairway & General Yard and House cleanup.  Below is a list of links available for new updates to be viewed or downloaded.  The 2002 Financial Report is now online along with the newly added updated 2002 BTHC By-Laws.

    Hey Guys,  its been a while since I've posted anything to the website but there have been a few changes in the last few months.  The member address list has been updated recently and a few more meeting minutes have been added with pictures from the meetings.  The raffle tickets have been sent out for the next drawing on December 1, 2002 and everybody should have received them by time you read this note.  The drawing will be held @ camp on Sunday morning.

    Hey Guys, were back from the work weekend.  It was very productive with 18 members present to give a hand.  We also had 3 guests who lended a hand with camp work.   I have made a some changes and updates to the site, I'll just make a list here for you guys and you can check them out when you get a chance.  Remember guys, don't be bashful, if you have something you want on the site or some suggestions pass them along.

    Hey Guys...I'm backkkkkk...Here are a few reminders and some web updates I have done recently.   Meeting Minutes & some new pictures have been added up to and including the click here to enlarge the pictureNovember 12, 2001 Meeting.  Harold L. (our BTHC Chef  Extraordinaire) was honored @ Monday Nights Meeting with an honorary membership in the Club.  Congratulations Harold!!! You have been a tremendous asset to our club over the years and we do appreciate all you have done...especially in the kitchen!!! U DA MAN!!!   I received the raffle tickets tonight for the next drawing that is to go off on May 13, 2002,  I will get click here to enlarge the picturethose off to all the members before the end of next week.   The club voted on and passed a motion a few months ago to make it mandatory for ALL members to sell there tickets.  You will no longer be able to return them to me for re-distribution.  You can however give them to somebody who can sell them but YOU are ultimately responsible for getting in your raffle money.   Some pictures have been added to the site in the Deer Hunting Page and a new category has been setup for BTHC Club Events, if you have any events you want to list just drop me an e-mail and I'll be more then happy to post it for you.   Don't forget about the work weekend in April (6th-7th). We have about 11 guys signed up as of tonight's meeting.  Try to get up to the hills for some fresh air and help your club.

    Hey Guys, Happy Holidays!!!  Sorry it's been a while since I did any publishing on the site, I've been down with 2 herniated disks in my lower back and just this week have been able to get back on my feet a bit.   I wasn't able to get up to the camp hunting this year either and that REALLY  $#&%..ed  me off  big time!!!  Anyway, enuff of that silly stuff,  I have made a lot of changes and updates to the site, I'll just make a list here for you guys and you can check them out when you get a chance.  One thing you don't want to miss is the story and pictures of George R's PA Elk Hunt, he got himself a 'dandy' and Lynne has written a terrific article about the week long hunt.

    Just a quick note.  The next raffle is due to go off on November 25, 2001 (the drawing will be held @ deer camp on Sunday).  The letters are printed and stuffed and I will get the tickets in the mail on Tuesday, September 4th.  Please do everything you can to sell all of your tickets.  50 extra tickets are available if any member needs more,  contact me or drop me an  e-mail and I will get tickets out to you ASAP.   That's it for now...I'm outta here !!!

    Hey Chucky!!! Great job on the picnic!!! It was a GREAT time for all.  Thanks also to Tim R., George H. Jr., for all their help in making it a great success.  I know he's here somewhere !!! (Click here for a full size image)Some new monthly meeting pictures are up on the site and can be viewed @ <Meeting Minutes>.  We will have another raffle coming up in November,  I will get tickets in the mail around the first week of September for the Scheduled drawing to go off  @ Camp (Sunday November 25th) during the first week of Buck Season.  We also have a Work Weekend coming up on the Weekend of September 22nd.  Come on up and pitch in with some much needed help around the camp and grounds.  We met a new candidate at this past meeting (Buzz C.) and will vote on his admission into the BTHC @ August's Meeting, be sure to come and cast your ballot.

    Raffle ticket sales are moving along nicely, any tickets still outstanding must now be sold by the holding member,  The raffle money is due on or before the next meeting on June 11th.  The updated raffle report is available online @ <BTHC Reports>.  Also, there are some pics posted from last nites meeting that can be viewed @ <BTHC Meeting Minutes>.

    April 7-8 Work Weekend Pics & General Meeting Pics  are now posted on the site.  The work weekend was very productive with a lot of different chores being completed on the camp.  17 BTHC Members made the trip to help out with the work which needed to be done.  Some members were in camp from Wed thru Sunday and there help was greatly appreciated.  I am planning in the near future to add a <Calendar of Events> button to the site where you will be able to find things that are upcoming within the Bucktail Hunting Club.  If you have any such events that you know the members would be interested in please forward them to me as soon as possible.  Also, I will be updating the Member Address List this week, there have been some changes and additions to addresses & e-mail addresses.  As always you can reach me at rc@mavrick.com.

    Don't forget about the workweek this weekend (April 7-8, 2001).  The regular monthly meeting will be held @ camp on April 7 @ breakfast.  I'll be taking digital pictures in camp during the work weekend so tune in to the site sometime after Saturday nights dinner  and see what's goin on if you can't make the trip.  The  Meeting Minutes from November 2000 thru March 2001are posted on the site, although, there has been a password change for ALL files on the site that require secure access due to a change in membership that made this necessary.  Contact Ron Marrazzo

    The April meeting will be on Saturday April 7, 2001 at about 8:00 am at the
    Bucktail Club in Powell, PA.  The next Work Weekend is April 6,7 & 8, try to make the trip and give a much needed hand.  I will receive the next batch of raffle tickets tomorrow from our club president.  I will try to have the letters finished and in the mail by this weekend (17th / 18th) so we have enough time to sell all of them.  The raffle format was voted on, passed and changed at the January Meeting ... it will be as follows:  400 Tickets (previously 300) / All members will receive 10 tickets to sell / Currently there are 34 BTHC members so there will be an additional 60 tickets available if anybody needs extras ... Contact Ron Marrazzo, Joe Fonde (President) or Tim Reasoner (Vice-President) ... That's it for now, I'm outta here!!!

    Sunday February 18th, 2001 was a sad day for racing and racing fans.  I  just put up a few pages to tribute the greatest NASCAR racer of all time, Dale Earnhardt (1951-2001).  I found some very good articles and pictures to share with all of you...just go to the Home Page and click on the picture or link.  There is no easy way to say goodbye to such a warrior...all that can be said is that he left this world doin what he did best ... "Intimidating" the competition.  Also, there are some pics posted from the last club meeting <Meeting Minutes> on the 12th...that's it for now...I'm outta here!!!

    I just added a new button to the home page on the website <BTHC Reports>.  Ernie has written a very good report on tree plantings that have taken place over the years...check it out!!!  Also, there are raffle ticket sales reports available for you guys to view, these are members only files so you will need your password for access.  If any body has any other reports to post please e-mail them to me in any word processing format and i will upload them to the server for the other members to view.  I also corrected a few addresses in the member database, when you get a chance please check your listing and let me know if any other corrections need to be made.  That's it for now...later!!!

    Sorry I wasn't able to publish to the website from the hills, the server went offline on Sunday and everybody was away hunting so it didn't get a restart until Tuesday nite.  Anyway, the hunting pics are up, they can be viewed @ <Deer Hunt 2000>.  Go take a peek its worth the click.  I also posted a few new pictures of the camp and grounds @ <About BTHC>.  For those of you who couldn't make the hunt we had a VERY good year,  seven (7) buck the first day & two (2) buck the second day.  JT's 8 point (152 lbs. field dressed) buck won the buck pool but all the deer were excellent animals.  The raffle drawing was held @ camp on Sunday the 26th, the winners can be found @

    Just a quick reminder, the raffle goes off  November 26th  at the camp meeting.  Many thanx to all the guys who got their  tickets and money in early.  I will be in camp at the meeting on Sunday for anybody who has ticket money to turn in.  Also, I put a new button on the main menu <Online Auctions>, this area is for anybody who wishes to post an auction ID for auctions that you currently have running.  If you want to be included in the list please send me an e-mail with your Auction ID and the auction name (i.e. eBay, Yahoo ... etc ... Full Names are optional, if you want that listed just let me know) and i will create a hyper-link to your items for auction.  Now for the kewl stuff...I will have my digital camera and laptop with me in camp and will be posting pictures to the website every evening at the close of the day starting on Sunday Nite.  (provided i can get a half way clean phone connection to the server).  For you guys who can't be there you can still have the opportunity to see how well the hunt is goin' and peek in on your hunting buddies.  Check them out @ <Deer Hunt 2000>.  That's it for now, cya @ camp ...     Raffle Tickets were put in the mail on September 14, 2000 and BTHC members alphabetically by last name <D. Backes .. thru .. M. Pellegrino>  will be receiving tickets via US Mail.  All other members are not required to sell tickets for the November 26th drawing to be held at camp during buck season and will receive tickets on the next raffle probably scheduled for around April/May, 2000.  If anybody needs tickets please contact me and I will forward any unused or returned tickets to you.  Please Note: If you are returning unsold tickets I need them back by October 30 (6 weeks) so I can redistribute them to members who can sell them before the November 26th drawing date.  Please do your best to sell all your tickets, We need them ALL sold to make this worthwhile for club activities, grounds maintenance field plantings, etc..    That's it for now...I'm outta here!!! :)

    The Meeting Minutes for March, April, May and July 2000 have been published,  June 2000 Minutes as of right now are MIA but Bruce is working on that and we will get them up ASAP.  Also, there are a few pictures from tonight's meeting published for your viewing pleasure.  We will be starting another BTHC raffle hopefully before next month with a drawing date set for Sunday November 26, 2000 during the regular monthly meeting held at Camp.   That's about it for now...more later :)  I'm outta here!!!

    I made some corrections and additions to the BTHC history page.  The list now includes the guys who hunted together in the Pocono's in the 40's & 50's and also the membership when the club was started in 1955, and the CHARTER members as of August 5, 1957 when the club was incorporated.  This information came from the (Paid) Dues Journal the Ernie Pellegrino kept so meticulous over the years as Financial Secretary.  Thanks, Ernie for preserving this club history.  Take a peek at this when you get a chance its interesting stuff.   That's it for now more later...I'm outta here!!! :)

    I added a new button to the website <Yesteryear> that has a lot of old pictures of the club property and members.  Most of the pictures came from Ernie Pellegrino's scrap book.  Also, under the BTHC history button are a lot of new images including the first Bank Books, the Original Dues Book and local clips from the newspaper from around the late 1950's.  Keep your eye out for more pics and clips under these areas as I will load new stuff as I get it prepared for publishing to the web site.  That's it for now, more to come!!! :)

    Ernie Pellegrino has written a nice piece on the start of the Bucktail Hunting Club and how it all came about in 1955.  Use the <BTHC History> button on the Main Page to view his writing.  I also posted a few "then" and "now" pictures taken in 1955, 1983 and 1997.  I will be publishing more material and pictures as I sort thru it and get it into some order.  Thank you Ernie for the terrific and informative article.  That's it for now...keep an eye out for more to come :)

    I just posted 5 pictures taken at the June, 2000 BTHC Meeting to the Website.  I also posted the winners from tonite's raffle (June 12).  Don't forget about the BTHC Picnic on June 24th, 2000 at Chuck Jones's house starting at 12 noon and continuing into the evening.  If you need directions or would like to let him know if you are attending please use the member directory and give him a holler.  A work weekend was scheduled for September 23-24, 2000, if you didn't get your weekend in the Spring of this year  this would be a good time to help your club and avoid paying the penalty.  Ernie Pellegrino has given me the original books and pictures dating back to the start of the club in 1954 and i will be sorting thru the material as i get the time to post a history from the beginning of the club to present day, keep an eye out and check back here from time to time for the updates.  I promise it will be interesting.   That's it for now....more later :)

    I just posted 5 pictures from the May, 2000 BTHC Meeting to the website.  If you haven't seen your old cronies for a while go take a peek.  Thanx to Joe Fonde (Club President) for taking the pics with his digital camera.  We will try to get pictures at each meeting for your viewing pleasure.  You can view the pictures by going to the Meeting Minutes page and clicking on the hyper-link <pic#> for the month's pictures.  I also posted a turkey picture taken in Bucks County (Lower Makefield Twp),  check it out its pretty funny.  You can view it by going to Turkey Hunt 2000.

    A new button was added to the site on the home page (Waynes Weather> for local Towanda or National  weather.  This site is maintained and managed by Wayne Vanderpool with various links to other sites.  I would recommend you check this site out for weather info and get the 5 day forecast if your traveling to the camp, especially in winter ...Great job on your site Wayne!!!

    I just added a new button to the site on the home page <Work Weekends> and posted some pictures that were taken prepping the main dining room floor, kitchen and foyer for a new tile floor which was put down on the weekend of February 19th.  I also added a few more Deer Hunt 99 pictures to the page that were given to me at the last monthly meeting.  Keep your eye on <News and Updates> as i will be updating the site as material is passed on to me.

    I just added a new button to the site on the home page <Items for Sale>.  You can post items you wish to sell and view items that are listed for sale from other parties.   I will delete and refresh the database every 30 days so the file size does not grow to outrageous size, you can then re-submit your item for another 30 days.   The database will be flushed on or about the 1st Monday of the month in conjunction with our monthly meetings.

    The new home for the Bucktail Hunting Club is LIVE !!!   You can now access the site at http://www.bthc.org.   Our Primary Web Server upgrade went faster than expected and without a hitch allowing us to move the new domain sooner then we had expected.   If you access the site thru the old URL http://www.mavrick.com/bthc  you will be redirected to the new domain.  You can bookmark the site for future access.  Please let me know if you find any links or pages not working properly and I will fix them ASAP.

    Due to a necessary upgrade to the Primary Web Server the BTHC domain (www.bthc.org) scheduled to be launched last week has been delayed until 
     all work can be completed and the Server can be integrated back into the network.

    A motion was presented and passed at the General Meeting to secure a Web Domain for BTHC.    Ron Marrazzo registered the domain www.bthc.org with
    Internic on January 13, 2000 and notification was received on January 14, 2000 that the domain was secured.  Updates  will be sent VIA e-mail to all BTHC members when the Domain is ready and I move the site to its new Permanent home on the Web.
